Fred Robles is a butcher by trade and owns Rio Valley Meats in Weslaco, Texas. He entered his first barbecue contest with a borrowed smoker, placed fifth in chicken, and got hooked. He's since won 95 grand and reserve grand championships, and he was the 2019 American Royal World Champion.
